Here at Schnabl’s Guide Service, we have a passion for the outdoors. We spend the majority of our free time hunting or fishing, depending on the season. Schnabl’s Guide Service is our way of sharing that passion with others. What we offer
South Texas Coastal Duck Hunts
Duck hunts launch out of Arroyo City via airboat. Your guide will take you to a hunting spot. The specific location varies based on tidal flow, northern fronts, and feeding locations, etc. We do not hunt out of stationary blinds. We like to stay mobile because the ducks are constantly moving due to pressure and weather conditions. We have portable blinds that will be used if necessary, along with the use of other natural vegetation as cover.
The south Texas coast is where the majority of Redheads overwinter. If you’re looking to bag a trophy Redhead or Pintail, then you’ve come to the right place. Traveling via airboat gets us into extremely shallow water which gives us the opportunity to harvest other species as well such as teal, wigeon, mottled ducks, spoonbills, blue bills, gadwall, buffleheads, goldeneye, black bellied and fulvous whistling ducks, hooded and common mergansers, and coots.

Guided Inshore Fishing Trips
Fishing trips can launch out of Port Isabel, Arroyo City, or Port Mansfield via a 23’ Shoalwater Cat or by airboat when available. We cater to many different styles of fishing. Each trip will be structured a bit different depending on whether you like to fish from the boat or wade in the water and whether you prefer to fish with lures or bait. Capt. Schnabl specializes in fishing with artificial lures but can accommodate the use of bait upon request.
Where we fish in the bay will vary depending on the species that you are looking to target such as speckled trout, red drum, snook, and flounder.
We will provide rods, tackle, bait (if requested), and ice chests with ice for your catch and drinks. More information on what to expect during your fishing trip can be found here.
